small white buds along the Bronx River pathway led me to identify these lovely little blooms as Hawthorn flowers. In his painting, they are larger than life by tenfold. There is much symbolism to the Hawthorne flower used throughout the centuries in paintings. Some thing I would love to see become a common place practice in art once again.
